Saining Loose Incense

Saining is the Scottish term for a ritual or ceremonial cleansing, blessing or consecration. Using plants and herbs found in Scotland and close surrounding areas. It's important to note that saining is not just a substitution for smudging, as both ceremonies are culturally specific, different from each other, and sacred practices.

The ritual of Saining is ancient, with Juniper being the primary plant used. Saining is a common practice in modern traditions based on Scottish folklore, such as blessing and protecting children and other family members.

Burn on a charcoal tab, in a fire, sprinkle on your hearth, or use in sachets, charms or witch bottles. Burn in a well-ventilated area.
