Maa Kali is the Hindu goddess associated with empowerment or shakti. She is the fierce aspect of the goddess Durga (Parvati). The name Kali comes from kāla, which means black, time, death, lord of death: Shiva. Since Shiva is called Kāla— the eternal time — the name of Kālī, his consort, also means "Time" or "Death" (as in "time has come"). Hence, Kāli is the Goddess of Time, Change, Power, and Destruction. Although sometimes presented as dark and violent, her earliest incarnation as a figure of the annihilation of evil forces still has some influence.
These are beautiful 2x4" hand-rolled beeswax devotional candles. Please note, while Earthen Alchemy products are usually vegan, these candles are made of real beeswax. Made with love, in Canada.
Kali.
Goddess.
Open me up.
Break me apart.
Gently at first.
Whisper love to me as you
Tear me limb from limb.
Destroy my pretty paradigms
Shatter my shoddy illusions
Rip my seams asunder
Tear the veil before my eyes.
I want to see with your vision
My eyes have been blinded to the divine
They only see cars, buildings, and smog
Faces caked in makeup
Bodies wrapped in designer clothing
Give me new sight to see
Colors
Energy
Spirit.
Give me your breath that I might
Breathe life into the world
Revive the dying
Inspire the languishing soul-dead that roam the streets.
Kiss my feet to dance upon the ashes of the dead
Sing them into new life
Give me your courage
To walk among the ashes of my
Narrow dreams
Taking the dust and shaping it
Into charcoal
I smudge my spirit with the black remnants of who I used to be
I laugh
Nothing is freer than drawing with your bones
Failure does not exist
When you know the freedom
Of Dying
