Alan Watts was a brilliant and influential British writer and lecturer who both interpreted, and popularized Eastern philosophy and religion for a Western audience. Holding a masters degree in Theology, in addition to being an ordained Episcopal priest from 1945 - 1950, Watts wrote more than 25 books and articles on subjects important to Eastern and Western religion. He introduced the youth culture of San Francisco to The Way of Zen in 1957, one of the first bestselling books on Buddhism.
Alan Watts often said that he wished to act as a bridge between the ancient and the modern, between East and West, and between culture and nature. I believe after reading his works, and listening to countless hours of his lectures on youtube, (I highly recommend that you search!) that before his passing in 1973 he succeeded.
I am always actively seeking out his harder to find titles to add to our collection of offerings. Below you will find our current Alan Watts titles. May the wisdom found.. help light your path ahead. ❤️
