Elder Trees have some interesting names that may depend on who's talking about them. Referred to as the Tree of Life, all parts of the Elder Tree have been used for magic and healing, and they're revered for their medicinal applications. These trees have also been called the Tree of the Devil, and that is thought to stem from them being considered sacred by the Druids. Christians were trying to discourage them from worshipping trees and remove the Druids from power. Elder Trees have been closely linked with witchcraft, and folks believed that witches could turn into Elder Trees.
