Meadowsweet has also been referred to as the queen of the meadow, pride of the meadow, meadow-wort, meadow queen, lady of the meadow, dollof, meadsweet, and bridewort. It is associated with Venus, Morrigan, Blodeuwedd, Aine + Gwena.

Meadowsweet contains a compound similar to aspirin and is useful in reducing pain and inflammation, but can take 6-8 hours to start acting. It settles the stomach and acts as a natural antacid. It also contains silica, which aids the skin, joints, and connective tissues.
