Frankincense is a hardened gum-like material (resin) that comes from the trunk of the Boswellia tree. In modern magical traditions, frankincense is often used as a purifier – burn the resin to cleanse a sacred space. Myrrh is a Goddess plant of the Moon's sphere, sacred to Isis and also burned to Ra at noon in ancient Egypt. Burned as incense, Myrrh purifies the area, lifts the vibrations and creates peace. However, it is commonly burned in conjunction with frankincense or other resins. Myrrh increases the power of any incense to which it is added.
