Centaurea Cyanus, commonly known as Cornflower or Bachelor's Button, is an annual flowering plant in the family Asteraceae native to Europe. The plant gets its nickname from its association with cornfields where it grew and was deemed a weed. 
Medicinally, Cornflower can be used as an eye wash or compress to treat infection or inflammation. It has also been used to regulate the nervous system.

In most magical traditions, Cornflower is used to aid in psychic development.  Cornflower is also used to bring peace to a home.  Hang a bouquet above the front door to ensure your safe return and keep your home safe while you are away. 

Cornflower can be used in facial steams, to make infusions for the skin and hair and is a colourful addition to tea blends as it turns the water blue or purple depending on the acidity of the accompanying herbs.
