Elder Trees have some interesting names that may depend on who's talking about them. Referred to as the Tree of Life, all parts of the Elder Tree have been used for magic and healing, and they're revered for their medicinal applications. These trees have also been called the Tree of the Devil, and that is thought to stem from them being considered sacred by the Druids. Christians were trying to discourage them from worshipping trees and remove the Druids from power. Elder Trees have been closely linked with witchcraft, and folks believed that witches could turn into Elder Trees.

From A Compendium of Herbal Magick;
"Gather your elder with great care. Of all herbs, none has such a link with its Mother. It is this natural magick which undoubtedly led to its impressive reputation."

**Always consult a physician before using herbal products, especially if you are pregnant, nursing, or on any medication(s). Do not use Elderberry if you are pregnant or nursing. Folks with autoimmune disorders may have reactions to Elderberry. Elderberry can cause nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea if consumed when underripe, or in large quantities. These herbs, resins, roots, flowers, and powders are meant to be used for spell and ritual work.
