It contains inulin which feeds friendly bacteria to the colon. 

Combined with finely ground lemon verbena and mistletoe herb, elecampane root makes "true love powder" according to an old European recipe. When worn or carried, this herb attracts love and provides protection. Burned in charcoal as incense, elecampane aids in enhancing psychic awareness and is particularly useful when scrying.
