The Acorn tree itself was viewed as sacred to the Celtic Druids, often seen as a representation of the Tree of Life, Thunder Gods, Zeus, and Jupiter. 

Historically, acorns were believed to be a cure for drunkenness and alcoholism. Carrying an acorn in your pocket was said to provide protection, and placing them upon your altar was said to invite all the wisdom of your ancestors into your magical space and workings. Placing acorns in your windows was believed to protect your home from lightning strikes, and placing an acorn in your window during a full moon was said to bring luck and prosperity into your home. Being the seeds of the oak tree, acorns are also believed to aid in matters relating to reproduction and fertility.
