To the Kitcisakik Algonquin of Turtle Island, the tree is sacred - culturally significant to their legends, practices, medicines, and landscape. With this in mind, it is important to treat this medicine with respect and do your best to educate yourself on its traditional uses, and the legends attached to it. These teachings provide a greater depth of understanding of the tree and its rich history.
