The name comes from the lore that grieving Apache women, who lost their loved ones to a raid, would cry for a month, and as their tears fell to the ground they would form these crystals. Because of this these crystals are believed to protect a person from grief and sorrow. They help to absorb grief, release old hurt, and help you to forgive others without feeling bitter. Apache tears are a translucent form of Black Obsidian, and all Obsidian helps to protect a person or space from any hostility that may come from coworkers, family, former friends or lovers, and any negative spiritual energy. It may provide relief, allowing you to move forward in life with a more promising outlook.
